DID Youth Chat

Weekly hosted chat for littles/middles (DID alters under 13) to come together and share their joys and hardships with each other in a safe and supportive environment. Topics have included navigating the grownup world, being heard within the system, and trusting ourselves and others. The format is casual - you're free to share anything relevant on the topic being discussed, or to just sit back and listen to others, if that's what you prefer. There's often a game or a short story too. The chat takes place in the "DID Youth" room, see the chat schedule for times and dates.

2-Week Vacation
On with TheRedMarker
Hi, all! Youth Chat will be taking a two week vacation, as Red will be away at camp! :D It will therefore be cancelled July 24th, and 31st. It will resume again on August 7th. Feel free to post ideas for topics in the Youth Chat folder. I look forward to seeing you all then!

Open Topics
On with TheRedMarker
I think we'll take it a little easier on the topics for now, since we have such a tiny group and it can be hard to have organized discussions with only a couple people, hehe. :) So we'll leave it open for now, and just talk about whatever y'all want! :D See you Wednesday!

Therapists
On with TheRedMarker
- At which point should a person consider seeing a therapist? - Have you ever gone to one? If so, did you find it helpful, or not helpful? - What sort of therapy "styles" seem to work for you best? - Do you find speaking with therapists difficult or fairly easy? - What do you do if you and your therapist don't see eye-to-eye?

Fantasy: Vacations From "Real Life"
On with TheRedMarker
Under what circumstances do you feel the need to "get away" from life for a little while? When you do feel like getting away, how do you go about doing that? Do you ever use media (books, video games, movie, etc) to "escape"? Do you have a special place "inside" you can go to? Do you find daydreaming helpful? How long is "too long" for a vacation from reality to be? How can you tell? If "escaping" doesn't work for you, how else do you cope?
