Physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect inflicted on a child (someone under 18yo at the time) by an adult.
Abuse inflicted on one adult by another, while both live together in the same household. Please - no perp-bashing and no consensual relationship troubles.
Rape & Sexual Assault
Non-consensual sex forced by the perpetrator on the victim despite their objections. Troubles with consensual sex go in Sexuality & Reproductive Health instead.
Physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of people who are institutionalized (in a nursing home, prison, psychiatric facility, etc), perpetrated by the staff of the facility they are at.
Abuse leaves us with plenty of things to grieve: broken home, ruined childhood, years lost to DV, missed opportunities - acknowledging it is painful, but processing our grief helps us move forward.
Healing Shame & Guilt
Staying focused on what matters, detaching from what doesn't, managing anger, staying positive, motivational quotes, etc.
Social Skills & Relationships
Trust, boundaries, communication, assertiveness, conflict handling, making and keeping friends, or any other skill involving interactions with other people.
Activities of Daily Living
Practical steps we take to put our life back on track: time management, budgeting, housekeeping, healthy lifestyle, etc.
Anything that has to do with Therapy, Counseling, PDocs. Struggles with transference, article on when to terminate, your opinion on EMDR, new meds you're on - let's discuss it here.
Depression & Bipolar
PTSD & Anxiety
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks, OCD, agoraphobia - let's talk of coping with it.
Depersonalization, derealization, OSDD, or any other dissociative issues resulting from trauma of abuse. Topics involving alters/parts/personalities are in the DID subfolder.
Kids Corner (For DID Youth, Littles and Middles)
Doing harmful things to one's body is not uncommon among abuse survivors. We hear your pain and are open to talk about it. Please, no pictures of SI, descriptions of SUI methods, names/dosages of drugs, calorie counts, or weights.
